Rolex 1655 Explorer 2 MK1 from 1972

Wow! This is one of the best Rolex Explorer 2 Ref 1655's I've seen... It'a also one of the last from the first series, an MK1 from 1972. These are exceedingly rare as they were not so popular at the time so relatively few were made. It's also lovingly called the Steve McQueen (he wore one) or 'Freccione' (indicating the orange hand in Italian). This example has a super, super nice original dial with amazing lume & hands (with rare 1st series straight seconds hand). The bezel is to die for so clean & sharp! Case is very fat and the caseback is stamped 72 and still has the 1655 sticker on the back (serial 31827XX). The 1570 movement is very clean and is ticking away strongly. Attached is the original folded Oyster bracelet ref 7836. It even comes with it original period Rolex box. Hard to find a nicer MK1 and to me a 1655 is one of, or maybe the nicest sports Rolex made... SOLD!
