Super rare Universal Geneve 18K Disco Volante with Pulsations dial
The Universal Geneve Compax Chrono is an iconic model made in a lot of case variants... Compax stands for three counters (Compur is 2 counter). The example here from around 1940 is one of the rarest variants ever made by UG! It's a 'Disco Volante" or Flying Saucer with hidden lugs. This model was made only in 18K gold and bears reference 12201. It is also featured on page 246 of the UG book. The case is round but facetted to give it extra class and a luxury feel and is simply stunning, it measures 34mm excl. crown. The original dial is also an eye-catcher with outer Pulsations scale. It's nearly mint and super nice with the blued and gold hands. Movement is Cal. 281 which has just been serviced. Attached is a period style C&W signature style strap and it comes with an original UG buckle. This will be a great addittion to any vintage watch watch collection!
