Rare Oversize Minerva Pilot Chrono set from the original family
From my personal collection comes this very special Minerva Pilot Chronograph from around 1940. And it's not just a watch... it's a complete and super rare set which I got from the original family many years ago! The original owner purchased the watch when he was training to become a pilot. Focussing on the watch first, this example is one of the 150 pieces which Minerva produced in the early 40's. It's also the most desirable variant with sharp 46mm case and rotating bezel (some other variants exist, without rotating bezel but also older models with different lugs and smaller cases). Due to the slim case this watch actually wears very comfortably.
The original dial with gilt print features a Telemetre and Snail scale and radium numerals and hands. The movement is cal 19/9 and is in excellent condition. The family sent it to Minerva in 2012 for a complete and expensive service and it comes with their paperwork and spare parts. In addition Minerva included a super rare all original dial and hands which they still had in stock. This dial alone is worth quite a bit! The set also includes the original owners flying cap, his lighter and pictures. It also retains the original leather strap and flexible steel bracelet. Plus a special large Minerva Bomber watch. It simply is the most complete set you will ever find and truly unique!
