Reference 3644 is one of the rarer Ellipse models and was made between 1973 and 1977 in both white and yellow gold. Various regular and Soleil dials were used, from gold to silver to blue and white but the rarest of all is this brown/bronze which is called a 'Vermeer' dial. These soleil dials are fascinating to look at as they change color with the angle of light. The warm brown color suits the 18k Ateliers Réunis case perfectly. It's a sigma dial with solid gold indexes. There are a few gold spots coming through which gives it an extra vintage charm. The unpolished case measures 33x33mm and wears quite big, also due to the wide lugs which takes a 20mm strap. The strap retains the original PP solid gold Ellipse style buckle! Movement is Pateks high grade manual Cal. 23-300 with 18 jewels which has just been checked and times by my watchmaker. Don't miss this super cool 70's watch which is very 'En Vogue' at the moment.
